Training is a blessing and a curse. It is an attempt to pull you away from office responsibilities and gain grounding regarding the reasoning as to why you show up to work every day- oh, and of course expand your skill set. However- all day training often feels overwhelming, ‘to-do’ list provoking and tends to be hard on your back side. Sitting all day is never really my cup of tea- and Tuesday wasn't any different.
In the morning while putting on my mascara, I was surrounded by excitement- not for training, no definitely not for training; but for the thought of taking a walk through the Russian Hills district of San Francisco. A district I rarely find myself embracing- in all honesty, I generally don’t make it over to that area of the city- unless of course we have a visitor and we are embracing our inner tourist.
So- before leaving in the morning I grabbed my camera and ensured that I had comfortable shoes on. Training drug on- but was survived. While walking out, I told my co-worker that I was headed for a walk. He looked at me- shrugged his shoulders and said ‘alright- well, have fun’. I smiled and trudged up the hill.
There is something magical about not knowing where you are going, what bus you need to catch, no phone calls to make, and no time schedule to adhere to. No priorities, no time checks, no one to answer to.
Walking up the hill- I put my phone away and set on a few miles of brisk air and breath taking views.
I hope you enjoy some of these pictures; and that it encourages you to plan a trip to San Francisco. :) I can then look forward to taking some of you on this walk with me one day- until then, be sure to put your phones away once and awhile and enjoy your surroundings.
Happy walking- cheers!
